Dalton Cain Delivers in Charlotte as Travis Beckner Seals 2025 VDRA Championship
The 2025 VDRA Late Model Series came to a thrilling close at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Wednesday night with the VDRA Sim Racing World Championship—a 100-lap showdown that brought out the best of the best for one final clash under the lights. When the dust settled, Dalton Cain stormed from 12th on the grid to capture his third win of the season, while Travis Beckner locked up the overall 2025 VDRA championship with a second-place finish.
Cain Charges Through to Win the Finale
Dalton Cain showed resilience and patience on his way to victory in what was arguably the most intense race of the season. Starting back in 12th, Cain methodically worked his way through a stacked field, leading 20 laps and fending off Beckner in the final stages to claim the checkered flag.
Cain’s win marked his third of the season, all coming in the back half of the year—a strong turnaround that helped him climb to 7th in the final standings. He also posted one of the fastest laps of the night with a 14.903, underscoring the speed that’s become his trademark late in the season.
The feature race saw 8 different leaders and 12 lead changes, with minimal cautions allowing long green-flag stretches that gave the racing a natural rhythm.

Beckner Caps Dominant Season With Title
While Cain grabbed the race win, the bigger story might be Travis Beckner’s championship coronation. The No. 27 driver entered the night with a comfortable points lead and did exactly what champions do—ran up front and brought it home clean. Beckner started second and finished second, adding one more impressive performance to a resume that already included:
10 Wins
10 Poles
20 Top 5s in 23 Starts
23 Top 10s
960 Total Points
Beckner's season was a masterclass in consistency and dominance. His average finish was 2.3, and he never once finished outside the top 10. It’s no surprise he ends the season with a 129-point margin over runner-up Jayden Freiburger.
